He went on to complete his medical degree at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. Among his areas of expertise are dermatology, anatomic and clinical pathology, and internal medicine.

Meet Our team

Richard F. Schultz MD

Attended Andrew University in Michigan and received a BA in Chemistry. He then attended Loma Linda University in California where he received his MD degree. He then went on to specialize in: Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr Schultz is also affiliated with Curry General Hospital.

Sara VanCleave, Certified Medical Assistant, Dermatology Technician

Sara is living her best life on the Southern Oregon Coast where she recently completed her training as a Certified Dermatology Technician after starting her employment with our clinic in 2021. Sara has been working with us for just over a year and has years of experience in many different roles such as working as a Certified Nurse Aide, Opthamology tech and Clinical Medical Assistant.

Nichole Wedmore, LPN, Esthetician

Nichole is a native Oregonian and has lived in Brookings most of her life. She started in our Dermatology clinic as an LPN 3 years ago, and with the support of our staff was able to achieve her dream of becoming an Esthetician in 2022. She has 18 years of experience in the medical field working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Clinical Medical Assistant.

Karen Variz, Office Manager

Karen has lived in Oregon for 32 years since moving here from California. She worked in Long term care as a Dietary Manager for 10 years, before going back to Rogue River Community College for a Business degree. She has also worked in Orthopedics and Neurology. She loves gardening, swimming and traveling.

Lisa Kelley, Medical Front Office Assistant

Lisa has lived in Brookings for 6 years, and is formerly from Paradise, California. She has worked as a DME Medical Biller. She enjoys hiking and all the beautiful trails of this coastal community and spending time with family and friends.

I went in for small growth near my eye. I voiced my concerns when the Dr said he was going to freeze it and showed me this big can. But he was very understanding and took his time to explain how he was going to do it and showed me the small nozzle that would deliver the freezing agent. If I had to choose a place? ... to confirm that "life" had just thrown another straw on the proverbial "ol' camels back." This is where I would go. As happened. Very nice folks..and also very professional. I never even, for a moment, thought they were trying to "sell me something" ..or "push an agenda" on me. They didn't even try to sell me on a "pharmacy" ..this "drug" or that one. Didn't try to "convert me"..or sell me one of "aunt Linda's cookie jars." Treated me as a person who has something that they needed some professional help with.. and that might even become "life threatening" without help. I actually enjoy my yearly skin checks with Dr. Schultz. His office puts me totally at ease in having my entire body checked for aging skin damage and things that need to be frozen or cut off my body to be healthy.
